Overview
Grief and loss can be experienced after the loss of a loved one, ending of a relationship, illness, relationship breakdown, loss of employment and various other circumstances. This can cause a process that is different for everyone.
Physical Symptoms of Grief
A person that is dealing with grief may show difficulty accepting the loss they are experiencing as the pain can be overwhelming. They may have feelings of intense anger, emptiness, and no sense of self. Sometimes grief thoughts can transfer or manifest into symptoms like anxiety, depression, eating problems, aggression or disrupted sleep.
Treatment
Along with a support system, counselling can help with treating your loss and the emotions that accompany it, help you to come to terms with your new reality as well as address any possible guilt. This will allow you to embrace your life again.
